With electric vehicles (EVs) classified as a “safe bet” clean energy infrastructure type by the Canadian Institute for Climate Choices, both individual and corporate consumers are increasingly adopting this emissions-cutting technology. In fact, adoption of EVs through Canada’s Zero-Emission Vehicles program is expected to reduce Canada’s greenhouses gas emissions by 2.7 million tonnes over the lifetime of those vehicles. Further, by 2040 it is expected that 100% of new vehicle sales in Canada will be electric vehicles showing a need for EV charge infrastructure.1
EV users are seeing cost savings in addition to the environmental benefit. Canadian EV drivers save between $800-$2000 annually in fuel costs (the range depending on their provincial electricity grid).
